Club Coach Bonus

By being a club coach, you get an opportunity to support others in achieving their goals. You’ll help to create a healthier club and successful and engaged members.

Once the club achieves distinguished status or higher, you’ll get your club coach credit from Toastmasters International, which is required for achieving Advanced Leader Silver. District 96 would like to recognize your hard work by adding a special bonus, by giving you a Toastmasters International jacket.

Did That Just Happen?

Originally published by Ian Cunliffe, DTM

Have you ever had the sort of weekend where your first thought upon waking up on Sunday morning was:

“Did that just happen?”

If this question has ever occurred to you, then there’s a good chance that you were in attendance at the first annual District 96 Fall Conference.

I was, and as a result, the first thought that ‘sproinged’ straight into my brain when I woke up this Sunday morning was:

“Did that just happen?”

This thought was followed immediately by the next thought:

Evaluate? Evaluate. Evaluate!

“If I could give one piece of advice to members, it would be this: Evaluate, evaluate, evaluate.”

How To Become A Great Public Speaker

Anyone can be an effective public speaker. Just ask Jim Kokocki. In 1981, he was a shy corporate IT guy who did little public speaking. A few of Kokocki’s colleagues noticed that he didn’t speak much at meetings, so they brought him along to a Toastmasters International event. The rest, as they say, is history.

How to submit an event.

District 96 covers a lot of territory and it's important to let our members know what is happening.  If you are a member of District 96 you can submit an event for your club, area, division or district.  It's easy and this article will give you steps on how to submit and event and edit just in case you make a mistake.

Step 1: Log in or create an account.

Listen to Understand - Speak to Inspire

2 simple rules for consistently delivering better speech evaluations

As Toastmasters, we have a very important job to do. We are entrusted with the responsibility of empowering others to become more effective communicators and leaders.

Yikes! Did we really sign up for that? And if so, how do we do it?

We accomplish this, in large part, through evaluations. Effective evaluations are the beating heart of any successful toastmasters program. Yet many toastmasters find evaluations to be daunting.

Manage the Fear of Public Speaking: 5 Pro Tips

You have the privilege to speak in front of an audience.

That means you have a chance to positively impact others’ thoughts or emotions, improve your reputation, profile or authority and it’s a great way to get a step ahead.

On the other hand . . . you have to speak in front of an audience.

If you are like most people that means nervousness, sleepless nights, and tachycardia (palpitations for some).
