ADVANCED LEADERS LAB ("ALL")
Toastmasters of North Vancouver

Date
: Saturday, September 19, 2020 (3rd Saturday)

Time:  Gather 10:00 am. Meeting 10:15 am - 12:15 pm

Register:  Please register in advance on the EventBrite page to receive the meeting information and Zoom link:
EventBrite Link: https://allworkshophpl.eventbrite.ca

Program Agenda includes speeches scheduled by Jim Mann and Gordon Walter plus a Feature Workshop hosted by Maureen McBeath DTM, who will moderate a panel discussion on how to complete a successful High-Performance Leadership ( HPL) project via Zoom conferencing.

The HPL, or High Performance Leadership project, has been a high bar to reach for in Toastmasters on the path to completing a DTM award for many years and has been both an exciting challenge to reach for and an intimidating standard to uphold. Now our socially distanced environment adds another level of hesitation to taking that next step in our leadership journey.

Maureen McBeath, DTM will facilitate a panel discussion: How to Complete HPL Online on Zoom. Everyone can gain some insight, whether you have completed an HPL previously using in-person meetings or are looking at a required project in your Pathways education path with trepidation and are looking for guidance while formulating your plan to get started. This workshop is not to be missed.

If you are completing your traditional education program, or working on your Pathways Level 3 or 4, and thinking about your HPL project, this workshop is for you.

Please make sure that you do go to the Eventbrite page for this month's meeting to confirm that you will be attending the meeting and to get the Zoom link to access the meeting space.  Eventbrite Link: https://allworkshophpl.eventbrite.ca

We look forward to seeing you all there.

WORKSHOP "What is Your Philosophy" by Gordon Walter: Mindset Management often brings people to even deeper questions. Why? Because people often become aware of how many thoughts are archaic, at best. Some thoughts, told by your parents, no longer apply; you have developed beyond that. Some thoughts are merely absorbed media opinions or social conformity adopted.

Discarding these irrelevant/invalid/dysfunctional 'thoughts' can lead to deeper questioning. Great philosophers and philosophies help orient you to coherent models that have been debated and refined. They all have something to offer you in your efforts to advance your mind-set. Your challenge is "how to make your own blend" of these accumulations of enduring wisdom.

Light refreshments at break are provided. Members often go for lunch at Lonsdale Quay afterwards.

Mini Pathways Evaluation Forms

These Mini Pathways Evaluation Forms  are for individual feedback from members to club speakers.

This form can be used by all your club members to evaluate all your speakers. These are the evaluations for the first four speeches in Pathways Level 1. Simply print and cut them in quarters, then share these with your members at every meeting. The paper evaluations will allow members to get familiar with Pathways Level 1 evaluations.

PMI Vancouver Toastmasters a Toastmasters club founded in 2009 with a focus for Project Managers who are interested in improving their spoken communication, meeting management and presentation skills.

The club is an open club and a project management background is not a requirement to join as a member or a guest.

We are affiliated with PMI (Project Management Institute / www.pmi.org) and we offer additional advantages for PMI credential holders.  We strive to make our meeting run like well-planned projects with a focus on membership leadership development and improvement in verbal communication, evaluation, and meeting management.

Who are We?  We love to speak our minds, where every meeting is fast-paced, often irreverent, and always a humorous good time.  Jump into the fray and share whatever issue is on your mind.  (We have a role for that, called the "Rant".)  We welcome guests.  Feel free to join us for one of the most dynamic, engaging and rip-roaring fun online meetings you'll ever attend.  When meeting online, we host the meetings on Zoom.

Meeting Theme"Hot Fun in the Summertime!"  What's Your Favorite Summer Memory?

CoChairs:  Nicole Holas and Lydia Chao

Guests are Always Welcome!  To visit us at any upcoming virtual meeting, please contact Lydia Chao at chortlinglaughter@gmail.com

Location:  Zoom online

During this pandemic, we meet online.  In usual times, meetings are held at the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre, 181 Roundhouse Mews, Vancouver, BC -- across from the Yaletown-Roundhouse Canada Line Station.

Special note about Advanced clubs:  Advanced clubs are primarily made up of experienced Toastmasters who want to grow more rapidly than those in a typical club. They are Toastmasters who want to set a higher bar... and believe us, at SYM, the members are always encouraging one another to raise the bar further and further!
