In-person meetings

Champlain Heights Community Centre, Saturday 1 to 3pm, Youth Leadership Workshop

The workshops are structured for small group learning and are limited to 30 students between age 12 to 17. They are presented by experienced Toastmasters instructors and Gavel Club members. Meetings generally follow a format similar to that of a Toastmasters club meeting, with an announced agenda that includes practice in taking meeting roles, prepared and impromptu speeches. The 3 meetings in the Leadership I introduce the fundamental leadership skills: Effective Listening, Time Management, and Critical Thinking.

Thursday Weekly meeting at Kerrisdale Community Centre

Conducted by Toastmasters members, Vancouver Gavel Club helps youth build their communication and leadership skills to become tomorrow's leaders.

The club is a place for youth to push themselves, make new friends, and have fun! Unlike in a class where people learn from teachers' instructions, club members learn and build up confidence by making short impromptu and prepared speeches, taking meeting roles, and sharing & supporting each other.
