The recipient must have served as a Division Director in District 96 during the past year.  The Immediate Past District Director chooses the recipient.

Dr. Ralph Yorsh Legacy Award

History and Purpose

This award acknowledge the 50+ year contribution of Dr. Yorsh to Toastmasters. The award recognizes a Toastmaster who has left a legacy from their work during the past year that will live on in the District for future generations.

LEO Award

History and Purpose

Created at the district's founding in 2014, this award represented the vision of that year "LEADERS EMPOWER OTHERS" and was represented by Lion, nicknamed "LEO."

Presented annually to a Toastmaster who makes a significant contribution to the goals and mission of the District, and demonstrates tremendous abilities in leadership development and the potential and strengths of others in the district. The Immediate Past District Director, in collaboration with the district Core Team for the year in question, chooses the recipient.

Rookie of the Year

History and Purpose

Presented annually to a Toastmaster who makes a significant contribution to the goals and mission of the District. The recipient must have been a member for less than two years as of June 30 of the current year.   The Immediate Past District Director, in collaboration with the district Core Team for the year in question, chooses the recipient.

    Toastmaster of the Year 'Doug Anderson Award'

    History and Purpose

    Presented annually to a District 96 Toastmaster who makes a significant contribution to the goals and mission of the District.  The Immediate Past District Director, in collaboration with the district Core Team for the year in question, chooses the recipient.  

    This award was named in honor of Doug Anderson, DTM.  Doug is a past District Governor and longtime Toastmaster in both District 96 and District 21.

    Unsung Hero Award

    History and Purpose

    Presented annually to a Toastmaster who makes a significant contribution to the goals and mission of the District. This Toastmaster was not necessary visible to many, but made a lot possible for our member sand clubs. Often, the most important and the most impactful work happens behind the scenes.
