If we want to share our vision, tell our stories and make a difference, as we continue to communicate in the virtual world we need to become aware of ‘how we show up’ to others: understand the subtle nuances of body language and nonverbal cues. At the end of this session, you will leave with tips on how to best use your body language to enhance your professional effectiveness. You will know basic confidence and levity building techniques and understand how to strengthen your credibility and connection when speaking in the virtual world of Zoom.
Presenter: Dorothea Hendriks
A former teacher, Dorothea Hendriks left the classroom to start her own training and coaching business. She has worked with business professionals, associations, entrepreneurs, and not-for-profit organizations delivering communication skills workshops across Canada helping people master their presentation and speaking skills.
Dorothea has been active in Toastmaster for over 30 years. When BC was all one District (District 21) she won the International Speech Contest twice, received the Outstanding Toastmaster of the Year Award, the Division B Bjorn Bjorsson Award, the District 21 Clair Farris award, Area Governor (now Director) of the Year. And, in 2011 Dorothea was honoured with the Presidential Citation from Toastmasters International.
