One of the highlights of the District Annual Conference is the presentation of the Communications and Leadership Award, presented to an outstanding communicator or leader in the community.
Past recipients include:

Norm Blair, Rotary International Member and community volunteer
Maggie Ip retired secondary school teacher

acts like a Toastmaster by showcasing the values of integrity, respect, service and excellence

How about someone who
Is a resident of the District 96 geographical area
Is a non-Toastmaster
Distinguished themselves as a leader or spokesperson for a worthy cause or purpose, especially as it exemplified their communication and leadership skills
Made a significant contribution to the communities within the District. The impact of this contribution must not be limited to one organization, but must be community/district wide
Supports aspects of the Toastmasters programs
